Academic Activities:

Started the academic career after working for 12 years in mass media. Since 2005 I taught subjects such as Print media, Electronic media, Development communication, Gender communication, Public Relations, Advertising and New media. Soon after joining the teaching I took up research and started publishing research papers extensively. In the beginning itself I published one paper in Sage journal and contributed to many subjects of contemporary nature. I have also guided 5 Ph.D. scholars and another five are going on. I also published 4 books and have been working on two more. I contributed material to Journalism and Mass communication course being offered by various universities and have guided more than 200 students in their dissertation Woks. I can claim that I am instrumental in bringing Community Radio Service to Acharya Nagarjuna University. No other state university in the Telugu speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has this type of facility. Of late it was one among the 65 Community Radio Stations that was awarded a project of Rs 9 lakhs by the government of India. Since joining the academics I have been supporting the institutions i.e. Andhra university and Acharya Nagajuna university in the Public Relations activities during all the major events being conducted by them. Hence I could raise to the position of Chairperson, Amaravathi chapter, PRSI, a National level professional body in India.

The Department :

The department was strengthened by introducing M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses. Periodically the syllabus was revised to suit the demands of the industry as well as the society. In the years 2012, 2014, 2017, 2021, 2024 I have conducted seminars and workshops to hone up the research and professional skills of students and scholars in Mass media and Mass communication. Apart from these guest lectures are also organized. Along with organising seminar on Agricultural Communication an edited book was brought out with the papers submitted in it. Later workshops on public relations, Advertising and recently on Viable content generation as well as on Digital media and Unfolding of new potential was conducted with national level resources persons and experts. Sstudents have not just participated they have interacted with the top resources persons in those to have hands on experience and tried to improve their knowledge levels.

Professional Achievements :

Could teach professional aspects of mass media and mass communication to students and support them to get in to jobs in top media houses in large scale.
I could publish four books and good number of research papers in national and international journals of repute. In the beginning of my career itself I published an article in SAGE journal which has great amount of credibility. I contributed notes to MA (JMC) course offered by Dr.B.R.Ambedkar university, Hyderabad, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam as well as CDE of ANU.
The previous organization News Today pvt Llimited, Hyderabad which contributed for Eenadu and ETV of Print and Television mass media where I worked for more than 13 years has helped in guiding the students to gain entry into those top media house and could get placements in departments like Reporting, Editing, Production etc. Few students got into central and state government services. Few research scholars whom I guided had published good number of research articles.
